On the 24th of May 2013 the Council of Ministers of the Cyprus Government introduced new and more relaxed criteria beneficial for non-EU citizens, businessmen and investors. The “Naturalization by Exemption” scheme contains a number of criteria for investors which can be combined and used as leverage for obtaining the Cypriot citizenship.

All the investors shall meet the following criteria:
• Clean criminal record
• Investment in real estate in Cyprus of at least € 2,500,000
